Privacy policy
The calculator runs in your browser. What you type into it is not sent to us, and we never ask for your name. This page explains what does get collected, by whom, and how to opt out.

What you type into the calculator
- Every figure is worked out in your browser. Your salary, hours, filing status and the other fields never leave your device.
- So that the page remembers your figures when you come back or move to another state, the latest ones are saved in your browser's local storage. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
- “Share this estimate” puts your figures into the link it creates. Anyone you send that link to can see them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and how people find them. It uses cookies to tell visits apart and records things like the pages you view, whether you used the calculator (not what you entered), your approximate location, your device and browser, and the site that sent you. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy, and you can block it with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, also counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. That does not use cookies.
Advertising
This site may show ads served by Google AdSense.
- Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to show ads based on your earlier visits to this site and to other websites.
- Google's advertising cookies let Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and to other sites on the internet.
- You can turn off personalized ads from Google in Ads Settings, and from many other vendors at www.aboutads.info.

Fonts
The typefaces load from Google Fonts. To send them, Google receives your IP address and basic browser details, as with any file your browser downloads. How Google Fonts handles this data.
Hosting and server logs
Cloudflare delivers this site. Like any web server, it processes your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so that it can deliver them and protect the site from attacks. We do not use this to identify you.
If you write to contact@paycheckledger.com, we use your address and message only to reply. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculator keeps working without them.
- Turn off personalized ads through the links in the advertising section above.
- If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, you can ask what personal information about you we hold, ask for it to be deleted, and opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, write to contact@paycheckledger.com.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
When we add or remove a service that collects information, we update this page and the date at the top.
